It's hands-down the best budget hotel in Toronto, with its excellent downtown location and low price. It's right in the middle of the action, close to the Hockey Hall of Fame, Union Station, Eaton Centre and many restaurants and pubs.

Don't expect much in terms of amenities and service. We did say it was a budget hotel.

The Metropolitan Hotel offers both an excellent downtown location and good customers service at an affordable price. Primarily housing business travelers, it nonetheless welcomes families and is close to public transit, the Eaton Centre, the AGO, City Hall, and Nathan Phillips Square, among many.

The hotel also offers good dining options at Hemispheres, with an eclectic international menu; and Lai Wah Heen, one of the city's top contemporary Chinese restaurants.

Do take advantage of the complimentary downtown limousine service in the mornings.
