One of the newest outdoor attractions, Popes Creek Ranch, offers a place for visitors to enjoy the outdoors and have a place to relax and have fun. This 1,100 acre properly has over 25 miles of trails, for non-motorized use; hiking, biking and horseback riding.

You can fish, do some bird and wildflower watching, and then catch a show in the Woodlands Amphitheater tucked into the trees. The 425-seat amphitheater can host concerts, debates, workshops and even weddings.

 

Spend the night in one of their authentic teepees with hardwood floors made from trees cut, dried and treated in Kentucky. Each teepee has a small porch and a stone fire pit.

 

If you don't want to "rough" it you can stay in one of their five glamping tents. All of the tents have hand built, Amish made beds. They also have a covered porch and the sides of the tents can roll up so you can enjoy nature while staying in bed.

Hidden among the trees Popes Creek also offers visitors a chance to stay in the first local commercial adult sized tree house. Walk up the rustic path to couples tree house. The tree house has windows so you can look out and see the squirrels playing in the trees and a full sized bed along with table and chairs.

 

Popes Creek also has a honeymoon cabin that has a queen-sized bed and wood-burning stove tucked away in its own little meadow. "The Burley Shed" can be used as a reception/banquet hall. The shed was an old tobacco barn that was remodeled into an amazing dining facility. With large barn doors on both sides and two huge doom that open up to a massive porch, there is plenty of seating available tare large group. Popes Creek runs right in front of the Burly Shed so sitting outside is incredibly enjoyable and peaceful.

Just down the road from Popes Creek, the hiking and biking enthusiasts will find the Cecil L. Gorley Naturalist Trail with a 3.2 mile trek around Fagan Branch Reservoir with 43 bridges and a wide array of wildlife. The trail has picnic tables, benches and allows visitors to enjoy a great escape from the busy world.
